Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  1. To impart technical knowledge to graduate students and to enable them to implement this knowledge for the growth of their professional career in electrical engineering field by keeping in view the environment and societal concerns.
  2. To make the graduate students capable to investigate and solve the real life problems related to various areas of electrical engineering such as; electrical power systems, electrical machinery, measurement and control etc.
  3. To develop the multifaceted personality of the students and to motivate them  for self learning, so that they can work individually or as a team member to manage various projects of interdisciplinary nature for engineering practice. 

 

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

 

  1. The undergraduates students will get a detailed knowledge about the constructional features, working principles, operational features, characteristics and applications of the equipment and machinery used in various fields of electrical engineering, such as; electrical motors, generators, transformers, analog and digital meters, control devices and protection equipment, etc.
  2. The undergraduates students will develop a basic understanding about the mathematical, scientific, and engineering fundamentals necessary to  analyze, formulate, and solve problems related to electrical engineering practices and  get motivated for self learning, for pursuing higher studies, consultancy and field work etc.
  3. The graduate students will develop multifaceted personality by studying   basic subjects of other engineering branches, basic sciences, humanities and social sciences etc. so that they will be able to manage various projects of interdisciplinary nature for engineering practice. 

 

Program Outcomes (POs):       Engineering Graduates will be able to apply:

 

  1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusion using first principles of mathematics, sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques , resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need of sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively in complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

 

Master of Technology Electrical Engineering (Power System)

 

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

 

  1. To enable the students to identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems by imparting the enhanced technical knowledge for their professional and career development.
  2. To enhance the practical aptitude of the students by introducing them to various lab courses and research projects.
  3. To enable the students to carry out detailed investigation on multifaceted complex problems in the area of Electrical Engineering and allied thrust areas.
  4. To prepare the students for persuing higher studies such as Ph.D. programmes or to serve in R&D industry.

 

Program Specific Outcome’s (PSOs)

 

  1. The students will be able to apply the enhanced knowledge for modelling, analysis and for solving contemporary issues in power sector with a global perspective for their career enhancement.
  2. The students will be able to design, develop and propose theoretical and practical methodologies towards research and development support for the Power System infrastructure by using modern engineering and analysis tools.
  3. The students will develop research aptitude and be able to communicate effectively by developing the written communication skills by writing project reports, dissertation, and research papers etc.  

 

Programme Outcomes (POs):

 

PO1: Ability to apply the enhanced knowledge in advanced technologies for modeling, analyzing and solving contemporary issues in power sector with a global perspective.

PO2: Ability to critically analyze and carry out detailed investigation on multifaceted complex Problems in area of Power Systems and envisage advanced research in thrust areas.

PO3: Ability to identify, analyze and solve real-life engineering problems in the area of Power Systems and provide strategic solutions satisfying the safety, cultural, societal and environmental aspects/ needs.

PO4: Ability for continued pursuance of research and to design, develop and propose theoretical and practical methodologies towards research and development support for the Power System infrastructure.

PO5: Ability to develop and utilize modern tools for modeling, analyzing and solving various Engineering problems related to Power Systems.

PO6: Willingness and ability to work in a team of engineers/ researchers with mutual understandings to take unsophisticated challenges, in the field of Power Systems, lead and motivate the group to inculcate multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach.

PO7: Willingness and ability to take up administrative challenges including the management of various projects of interdisciplinary nature and carry out the same in an efficient manner giving due consideration to societal, environmental, economic and financial factors.

PO8: Ability to express ideas clearly and communicate orally as well as in writing with others in an effective manner, adhering to various national and international standards and practices for the documentation and presentation of the contents.
