B. Tech. ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multi-disciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multi-disciplinary environments.
  12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

  1. To provide the students with a strong foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyse engineering problems in modern electronics engineering practices and to prepare them for graduate studies, R&D, consultancy and higher learning for sustainable development.
  2. To develop an ability to analyse complex electronic hardware and software by providing appropriate training in relevant areas.
  3. To provide exposure and training to edge technologies in multidisciplinary projects to meet the needs of industry and the society.
  4. To prepare the students for a successful career and good leadership qualities to work with values & social concern bridging the digital divide.
  5. To promote awareness on the continued learning and to introduce the faculty, staff and students in professional ethics and codes of professional practice.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

  1. Analyse core electronics and interdisciplinary real world problems and connect learning to design affordable and modular solutions. 
  2. Acquire proficiency in use of soft and hard skills required for research and implement industrial practices in the field of electronics and communication.
  3. Focus on acquiring right blend of aptitude and attitude for effective placement, higher learning and initiative innovative start-up.

  1. Critical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex engineering problems and apply acquired knowledge in an innovative manner to provide societal acceptable solutions.
  2. Research Skills: Creating a research temperament for achieving meaningful and long-lasting solutions in-line with the changing needs of the society.
  3. Use of Modern Tools: Ability to develop appropriate models/simulated solutions by using available state-of-the-art tools and techniques.
  4. Collaborate Multidisciplinary Work:  Ability to achieve the laid objectives by maximizing the potential of co-team members and collaborating with other stakeholders.
  5. Project Management and Finance: Ability to formulate economically viable solutions using acquired technical and allied knowledge base.

  1. Postgraduates shall be successfully employable in core and allied fields having acquired in depth knowledge and become innovative and productive entrepreneur. 
  2. Use of acquired professional knowledge to analyse complex societal problems and formulate novel and optimal solutions using multidisciplinary research exhibiting concern for eco-system and humanity at large.
  3. Apply the ability to work as a team, communicate effectively, practise professional ethics and uphold social responsibility.
