University Business School hosts first Sports Meet “War of Titans”......

Bathinda, September 19:

The University Business School (UBS) of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, held it’s first-ever department-level sports meet, “War of Titans”, on Friday.

The event drew an enthusiastic response, with over 500 students—boys and girls—competing in cricket, volleyball, badminton, carrom board, tug of war and the 100-meter race.

UBS female faculty members also joined in fun games, adding to the festive spirit.

In results, the PG Programme team won the cricket championship, with BBA (First Year) finishing runners-up. The PG team also triumphed in volleyball, while B.Com (Second Year) secured second place. In badminton, girls displayed impressive skills, and Mohit Joshi (M.Com) emerged winner in the 100-meter race.

The meet was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, who lauded UBS for the initiative. He said sports not only build competitiveness and team spirit but also contribute to holistic student growth. “The university is committed to grooming students into well-rounded professionals with strong managerial, technical and interpersonal skills,” Prof. Sharma noted.

Dr. Gurinderpal Singh, Registrar, MRSPTU, highlighted the importance of sports in shaping personality and promoting overall development.

The prize distribution was led by Prof. Sanjiv Kumar Aggarwal, Campus Director, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Bathinda, who congratulated the winners and commended participants for their sportsmanship.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Dr. Pritpal Singh Bhullar, Head of UBS, expressed gratitude to dignitaries, faculty and students, assuring that UBS would continue to hold such activities to develop discipline, decision-making and critical thinking among students. He stressed that the department is committed to fostering a balance between intellectual and physical growth.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Puneet Bansal, Mr. Charanjit Singh, and Mr. Amritpal Singh, whose efforts ensured its smooth execution.
