Parichay-2025": Textile Engineering Department, GZSCCET, MRSPTU Bathinda hosts Grand Fresher’s Welcome Party….. Bathinda, November 6: The Department of Textile Engineering, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, organized a grand fresher’s welcome party titled “Parichay-2025” to warmly receive the new students of B.Tech. (Textile Engineering) and B.Sc. (Fashion Technology) for the session 2025–26. The event began with the lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over darkness, followed by a series of lively cultural performances—songs, dances, and fun games—that filled the auditorium with energy and excitement. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of Mr. Harpreet Singh (B.Tech.) as Mr. Fresher-2025, and Ms. Heaven Gill (B.Tech.) along with Ms. Jasmeen Kaur (B.Sc.) as Ms. Fresher-2025, amid thunderous applause from the audience. The event was graced by Prof. Palwinder Singh, Dean (Academic Affairs), GNDU Amritsar, as Chief Guest, and Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director, Students’ Welfare, PAU Ludhiana, as Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries present included Prof. Pankaj Chhabra (HOD-Architecture & Associate Dean, GNDU Amritsar), Prof. Monisha Dhiman (Director, IQAC, CUP Bathinda), Er. Amitoj Singh (Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala), and Dr. Kuldeep Walia (Director, CIQA). Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MRSPTU, presented bouquets to the guests. The function was also attended by Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar (Registrar, MRSPTU), Prof. (Dr.) Sanjiv Kumar Aggarwal (Campus Director, GZSCCET), Mr. Harjinder Singh Sidhu (Director, Public Relations), and Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu (Director, Training & Placement). In their addresses, Prof. Palwinder Singh and Dr. Nirmal Jaura congratulated the freshers and encouraged them to uphold teamwork, creativity, and academic excellence. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma lauded the department’s strong placement record and highlighted the importance of co-curricular participation in nurturing leadership, confidence, and interpersonal skills. Earlier, Prof. Reeti Pal Singh, Head, Department of Textile Engineering, welcomed the guests and shared that the department achieved 100% placement for eligible students in the past two years, with the highest package of ₹12 lakh per annum offered by Trident Group. Senior faculty members Prof. Anupam Kumar (Dean, R&D), Prof. Devanand Uttam (Chief Warden), and Dr. Parikishit Paul (Associate Professor) guided the organizing team. The event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, Ms. Reetika, Ms. Khushreet Kaur, Ms. Jagjit Kaur, and Er. Gurvir Singh, whose efforts ensured a smooth and memorable celebration. Appreciation was also extended to the student coordinators Mr. Kewal Singh, Mr. Gurbhakhshish, Ms. Jaspal Kaur, Mr. Amrit Pal, Mr. Amritpal Sidhu, Ms. Rajwant Kaur, Ms. Baby Rani, and Mr. Harparveen for their enthusiastic contribution.
