World Science Day Celebrated at MRSPTU…..

The Department of Mathematics, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, celebrated World Science Day for Peace and Development with great enthusiasm. The event was themed “Trust, Transformation and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050.”

         The day is observed globally to highlight the vital role of science in society, promote public engagement in scientific issues, and encourage reflection on how science can build trust, guide decision-making, and offer solutions for a fair and sustainable future.

                To mark the occasion, a series of activities including a quiz, model display, rangoli, and poster-making competitions were organized, drawing enthusiastic participation from students.

MRSPTU , Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma congratulated the Department of Mathematics for successfully organizing the celebration and inspiring scientific curiosity among students.

                Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mamta Kansal, Head of the Department, emphasized the crucial role of science in shaping a peaceful and sustainable future. She encouraged students to actively participate in such events that foster creativity, innovation, and critical thinking.

In the competitions held during the event:

Rangoli Competition: Harshita and Simranjeet bagged the first position, while Khushi Rani and Arpan stood second.

Poster-Making Competition: Ramandeep Kaur secured the first position and Harpreet Singh came second.

Quiz Competition: Diya and Muskan won first prize, followed by Jasneet Kaur and Jasdeep Kaur in second place.

Model Display: Sukhmeet claimed the first position, and Ramandeep Kaur secured second.

Faculty members of the department distributed prizes to the winners.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the coordinator, Dr. Mukesh, who appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and congratulated all participants and winners for their enthusiastic involvement.
