Art Exhibition organised at MRSPTU……. Bathinda, November 28 The Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chair of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, organised a profound and artistic Art Exhibition to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, who lauded the initiative, stating that such artistic endeavours “play a vital role in connecting the younger generation with the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Sikh tradition. Organised in collaboration with the Giani Zail Singh School of Architecture and Planning (Fine Arts), the exhibition featured an inspiring collection of paintings and sculptures created by Prof. Hardarshan Singh Sohal, Dr. Rattan Kanwar, and Prof. Amninder Kaur. Dr. Satpal Singh, Coordinator, and Dr. Anumeet Kaur, Co-Coordinator, played a pivotal role in the planning and execution of the event. In addition to faculty artworks, the exhibition displayed selected creations by talented Fine Arts students, including Karandeep Kaur (Batch 2022), Manjot Kaur (Batch 2023) and Monu Pasawan (Batch 2024), adding youthful creativity and diversity to the showcase. The exhibition’s thematic essence revolved around the inspiring lives of the Sikh Guru Sahiban, featuring depictions of the revered family of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Other notable artworks included the representation of “Chadya Sodhan Dhart Lukai” from the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, alongside artistic portrayals of Lord Krishna, Gautama Buddha, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and Maharani Jind Kaur. A special highlight was a painting inspired by the Gurbani verse: “ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮੰਦਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਜਿਤੁ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਰਾਜਾਨ” (So why call her bad? From her, kings are born )which captivated viewers with its spiritual depth and artistic finesse.
