TECH READY WORKSHOP 2026 held at PIT Nandgarh…. Bathinda, June 17: Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), Nandgarh successfully organized a three-day “TECH READY WORKSHOP 2026” on Computer Basics under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Devanand Uttam, Director of the Institute. The workshop was conducted for students from villages in the vicinity of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU). The workshop began with an introduction to computer fundamentals, including hardware, software, basic operations, and essential digital skills. On the second day, participants received hands-on training in MS Office applications, document preparation, presentations, spreadsheets, and digital communication skills, with practical exercises enhancing their confidence and proficiency. A key highlight was the interaction with Dr. Devanand Uttam, Director, and Dr. Wineet Chawla, Assistant Director, who motivated students to embrace digital literacy, continuous learning, and skill development in today’s technology-driven world. The final day focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in education, business, and daily life. Students explored AI tools and learned about their growing role in improving productivity, creativity, and learning outcomes. The workshop received encouragement from Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of digital education in empowering rural youth. An informative session on career opportunities in the Information Technology (IT) sector introduced students to fields such as software development, web design, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital marketing. Participants were also guided on the skills and qualifications required for success in these domains. A quiz competition was conducted to assess participants’ understanding of computers, AI tools, and IT careers. The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing participants for their active involvement and successful completion of the programme. The event ended on a positive note, with students expressing appreciation for the valuable knowledge and skills gained during the workshop. Ms. Harmandeep Kaur, Ms. Rajwant Kaur, Ms. Daljeet Kaur, Ms. Ishani (Assistant Professors), and Mr. Gurparteek Singh (Technician) played a significant role in the successful organization of the workshop.
