Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), Nandgarh, Bathinda, celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty, and staff. The event underscored the importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and inner harmony.

                 The programme was organized under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, whose commitment to holistic education, student welfare, and healthy living continues to inspire the university community. His guidance and encouragement contributed significantly to the success of the event.

                 Addressing the gathering, Dr. Devanand Uttam, Director, and Dr. Wineet Chawla, Assistant Director, highlighted the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for improved physical health, mental resilience, and emotional balance. They encouraged students, faculty, and staff to adopt yoga as a lifelong practice.

                 A special yoga session was conducted by Miss Harmandeep Kaur, who guided participants through various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques, explaining their benefits and correct practice.

                 The programme also witnessed the wholehearted support and participation of Miss Ishani, Miss Rajwant Kaur, Miss Daljeet Kaur, Mrs. Arshdeep Kaur (Assistant Professors), Mrs. Shinderpal Kaur, Mr. Mandeep Singh, and Mr. Gurparteek Singh, whose contributions ensured the smooth conduct of the event.

                 The celebration reflected the institute’s commitment to fostering a healthy, balanced, and positive environment. Participants enthusiastically took part in the activities and pledged to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.

          The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to embracing yoga as a way of life, echoing the timeless message: “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
