MRSPTU Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Enthusiasm and Patriotism

Bathinda, August 15

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the Athletic Ground on Thursday.

            The event commenced with Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kansal hoisting the National Flag.

            In his address, Prof. Kansal underscored the importance of August 15, reflecting on India's past struggles and the impact of mindset in overcoming oppression. He spoke about how British and Mughal divide-and-rule strategies exploited internal divisions.

            "Revolution is an inalienable right of mankind. Freedom is an imperishable birthright," Prof. Kansal said, honoring the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters. He urged the audience to rise above a mentality of subjugation and embrace values of humanity, brotherhood, and national unity.

            Prof. Kansal lauded India’s advancements in various sectors and called for ongoing progress, stating, “Our mission should be to make India Viksat Bharat.” He encouraged the youth to address contemporary challenges and contribute to nation-building through innovation and research. “Adopt an independent mindset and contribute to society. Even if each of us addresses one societal issue, we will make significant contributions to our nation, state, and university,” he added.

            The ceremony featured a parade led by NCC cadets under Er. Vivek Kondal, ANO of 2 Punjab R & V SQN, NCC. Students from various states and Nepal performed patriotic songs and dances.

            The event was anchored by Badisha, Manjot, Albina, and Muskan. Notable performances included Nepali dances by Riya, Priya, and Srishti, as well as dance performance by Kripya and Gulshan.

            A highlight was a graceful dance by Sandeep, known as the Little champ, who was honored by Prof. Kansal and his wife, Dr. Mamta Kansal, for his exceptional performance.

            Registrar Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Campus Director Prof. Sanjiv Aggarwal, along with Deans, Directors, and faculty members, were also present at the celebration.
