Department of Textile Engineering was established in the year 1995 in view of the increasing demand of the technocrats in cotton rich cotton belt of Northern India where, large number of Textile Industry exists.  

At present is offering under graduate and Post Graduate Programme in Textile Engineering.

Department of Textile Engineering, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology, MRSPTU Bathinda  was established in the year 1995 to cater to the needs of  Textile  industries and Research organizations from this cotton rich Malwa region of Punjab. Since its inception the department has contributed significantly to the growth of Nation in general and Punjab in particular.

The department has industrial and academic collaboration to meet out the pace of changing technology. Our department is committed to generate the knowledge by engaging research and promoting academic growth by offering B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D programme. Department is continuously engaged in modernization of existing laboratories and carries out research projects funded by AICTE, DST and various organizations. The aim of the department is to transform a young, enthusiastic student into a professionally competent engineers and managers capable of accepting the challenges of the academia and industry.
